Ramin Akhavan, M.D. is a graduate of New York University school of medicine in New York City is board certified in diagnostic radiology. He has fellowship training and additional subspecialty board certification in Neuroradiology from American College of Radiology. He has completed his fellowship training at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center as well as New York Hospital Cornell in New York City.
His primary areas of expertise and interest include Neuroradiology, musculoskeletal radiology and cardiovascular imaging.
Farhad Houriani, M.D. is a board certified radiologist with sub-specialty training in Body imaging. Dr. Houriani earned his medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, Michigan. He completed his internship at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. His postgraduate training continued with his fellowship in Body Imaging at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. Dr.Houriani has been in practice since 2001. He worked at Providence-Tarzana Medical Center, from 2002 to 2018. Before his departure from Providence, Dr.Houriani was elected as Chief of the Radiology department. He joined the Prohealth team and brought with him years of experience in Radiology with an emphasis in Body Imaging.
P. Paul Kashfian, M.D.is a board certified radiologist with sub-specialty training in Vascular and Interventional Radiology. Dr. Kashfian graduated from the University of Southern California with a degree in Biomedical Engineering. He earned his medical degree from the University Of California Los Angeles School Of Medicine. He stayed at UCLA and completed his diagnostic radiology residency. His postgraduate training continued with his fellowship in Vascular and Interventional Radiology at UCLA. Dr. Kashfian serves a critical role in our advanced non-invasive vascular services including CT and MRI angiography in addition to directing our outpatient interventional radiology services.
Robert Lufkin, M.D. is a board certified radiologist with sub-specialty training in MRI/Head & Neck Radiology. After studying computer science at Brown University, Dr. Lufkin earned his medical degree from the University of Virginia School of Medicine. He completed his internal medicine internship at the Oregon Health Sciences University School of Medicine. His postgraduate training continued with a residency in Radiology and a fellowship in MRI/Head & Neck Radiology at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. Dr. Lufkin has published over 200 scientific papers and 14 textbooks on MRI, Neuroradiology, and Metabolic Imaging. Dr. Lufkin has served as Full Professor of Radiology at the UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine and at the USC Keck School of Medicine. He is currently Clinical Professor of Radiology at USC Keck School of Medicine and Director of Metabolic Imaging at the Prohealth Advanced Imaging Network.
Vikram Shaker, M.D. is Board Certified in Diagnostic Radiology with a Subspecialty Certification in Neuroradiology. Dr. Shaker grew up in Southern California. He did his undergraduate studies at UCLA with a Mathematics/Economics B.S . After graduating from UCLA, he attended Medical School at the American University of the Caribbean. He then completed a Medicine Internship at Richmond University Medical Center in Staten Island, NY. Dr. Shaker went on to complete his residency in Diagnostic Radiology at Richmond University Medical Center, where he was appointed Chief Resident. After completing residency, Dr. Shaker continued his training with a fellowship in Neuroradiology at Mount Sinai Hospital New York. Dr. Shaker specializes in the imaging of the head and neck, brain, and spine. In addition, he has experience in interpreting advanced neuroimaging.
In his spare time, Dr. Shaker enjoys spending time with his family and friends. He enjoys travelling and is a big foodie.
B. Robert Shayestefar, M.D. is a board certified radiologist with sub-specialty training in MRI/Musculoskeletal. Dr. Shayestefar is a Suma Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa graduate from the University of California Irvine, with a degree in Biology. He earned his medical degree from the University of California Los Angeles with a Alpha Omega Alpha honors. Dr. Shayestefar completed his clinical internship training at Mercy Hospital in San Diego after which he went back to UCLA to compete his Radiology residency training. After his residency he completed his fellowship in MRI/Musculoskeletal at the University of Southern California. Throughout his education and post graduate training, Dr. Shayestefar’s conscientious and diligent dedication to his field is reflected in his honors and scholarships. Dr. Shayestefar is the author of multiple presentations and publications in the field of Radiology. After serving five years as the Chief of Musculoskeletal/ MRI Imaging at Olive View/UCLA Medical Center, he is currently full time at the Prohealth North Hollywood site.
